An early photograph showing Dr Alfred Hanson, our first president, presenting the Trophy named after him to Mr W Loxton, captain of the Swansea Chess Club. Swansea won the competition in seasons 1934-35 and the photo shows the presentation being made in June 1935. Swansea won again in season 1935-36 after which their dominance receded until the 1950's when they once again took possession on a number of occasions. Included in the photograph are past presidents of our League T.C. Hughes and Stanley Cole - after whom the second division trophy is named.
