With the West Wales Closed Championship taking place last week there were only 4 League matches played.

In Division 1 BF Nidum had a 4½-½ win over Castell-Nedd Emperors. The result maintains the status quo with Nidum sitting in 4th place and Emperors bottom of the table, just 1 point below BF All Blacks.

In the first of the two matches in Division 2 Upper Killay Merlins bounced back from their defeat by Morriston D to trounce BF Giants. Although the Giants managed draws on boards 2 & 3 the Merlins won the other three and went home the winners 1-4.

In their interclub match against De la Beche University, De la Beche A extended their winning streak to 8 matches. Although a couple of their usual A team players moved over to play for the University the end result was still a runaway victory for the A team, 5-0. Unless they crumble in their remaining 3 matches De la Beche A are now destined to win this Division.

The only match played in Division 3 saw St Michael’s School gain their second point of the season. This time against top of the table De la Beche B. De la Beche were 1 board short and this not only contributed to them conceding the draw but brought their default total up to 4 and into penalty point terrority. They still top the division but are still only two points above their C team.
