An Even Quieter Week

With one scheduled match already played on an earlier date and one match postponed due to the unavailability of the venue this week was even quieter than the previous week. Just the one match in Division 1 and two matches in Division 3. In Division 1 Morriston B had an unexpected draw against BF Nidum. A win on top board for Morriston was cancelled out by a board 3 win for Nidum with the other three games all drawn. The drawn match moves Nidum back up to third but 2 points behind second place Morriston A.

Although there were a nominal two matches in Division 3 only one was actually played. St Michael’s School were due to visit Morriston on the Monday to play a rearranged match against Morriston E but called off earlier in the day and defaulted the match. The following evening Morriston E travelled to Tonna where they faced the Tribunes. A hard fought match with no draws so it had to have a winner and with success on the top three boards for Morriston it meant that they went home the victors 3-2.

These two wins on the trot for Morriston E coupled with De la Beche B’s recent drop in form takes them to within striking distance of the De la Beche B team and opens up the title race.
