In the lead up to the Christmas break there were just four matches played.

In Division 1 it was an inter club tussle between White Knights A and their C team. As expected the A team emerged the winners and by a comfortable looking 5-0 score line. Apparently, however, the C team put up a bit of a fight and four of the games went deep into the endgame where the A team players showed superior technique. A message there for all of us perhaps? The result takes White Knights A to the top of the leader board with Nidum just the 1 point behind.

Two matches in Division 2.

On the Tuesday Bluebell played host to Morriston C who put up some resistance by drawing on the top three boards. Defeats for Morriston C on the two bottom boards were more than enough, however, to give Bluebell the victory (3½-1½). The result keeps Bluebell in touch with the University although the matches they have in hand will need to be won.

The following night Merlins faced De la Beche A who had whitewashed them in their previous encounter. However, a change in fortune this time around saw Merlins scrape the victory with three wins to two and gain a precious 2 match points. They are now just 1 point behind White Knights D with their face off coming in the first week in January.

In the one match in Division 3 De la Beche B and Morriston D met for the first time this season and it was a hard fought match with four out of the five games going well into the endgame. Morriston D, however, eventually went home the winners 3½-1½. The win gives Morriston D a slight buffer at the top of the table with Morriston E and Tribunes needing to win matches to keep in touch.
