The shock and awe is over. Two matches last week in Division 1 with no surprises in either. Brunel, who appear to be a different team away from home, lost 4.5-0.5 to Morriston B - no repeat of their success against Nidum. In the interclub match between the White Knights B & C teams the points were shared and resulted in White Knights B going top of the table by virtue of higher game points. This week's matches feature all 4 top sides and include White Knights A back from their adventures in Spain (see http://www.welshchessunion.org.uk/internationalnews/#bilbao2014 for a report). So expect a bit of rearrangement in the standings by the end of the week.

Division 2 saw Woodman A turn up a board short to play White Knights D. Two wins and a draw allowed them to share the points and retain their position at the top of the Division. Merlins made short work of team mates Harriers 4.5-0.5 to move into second place.

A reminder that the West Wales Closed Championship (E.J. Clarke) starts at Upper Killay on Wednesday 15th October. There is a £5 entry fee with all the money collected going into the prize fund. The £70 first prize will not be coming out of this fund but will be guaranteed by the League. Those intending to enter should contact June Evans (june.evans2@yahoo.co.uk).
