Emperors 3 v Morriston B 2
Two solid draws on bottom boards. With Steve's game the only question (as usual) was would he make the first time control. Arriving there (just) two pawns up and duly won the game. Hywel played really well, sacrificing a pawn to open up the game. His aggression had to be tempered with careful defence and, at the end, safety for his King meant marching all the way up the board to hide behind his opponent's pawns. Ian scored Morriston's only win after a fine tussle in the opening stages.
