We are saddened to announce the death of Gwynne Rhys-Jones who passed away peacefully on the 22nd December 2018 at Morriston Hospital. Gwynne was a stalwart member of the Upper Killay Chess Club for more years than many can remember and was a founder member of a committee formed to produce the British Isles Chess Championship in Swansea in the 1980’s. His cheerful demeanour and friendly greetings will be remembered by all who knew him and he will be sadly missed.

His funeral is on Wednesday 9th January 2019 when a service will be held at Swansea Crematorium at 11.00 am
