The finals day of the KO Cup competitions held at Briton Ferry Chess Club on the 23rd May produced some hard fought games but in the end clear winners in each section. Full results are detailed under the appropriate fixture group.

In the Open section surprise finalists Upper Killay Falcons were the victims of a resounding 4-0 defeat against this year's league champions Nidum A. Congratulations go to Nidum for winning the Stanley Fortt Memorial Cup for the third year in succession.

In the Under 1800 section a new name goes onto the Richard E Jones Trophy. Briton Ferry Brunel defeated Woodman 2.5 - 1.5 in what was always likely to be a close run battle. Woodman, in their previous guise as Rhyddings, won this trophy three years ago.

Briton Ferry's night was complete when the Giants defeated White Knights 3-1 to take the A.D. Nicholson Shield. A successful season for Briton Ferry as not only have they won two of the KO sections but the Giants also took the Division 3 title.
