The annual lightning tournament that traditionally marks the beginning of the new season will be taking place at the Morriston Chess Club on Monday 3rd September - start time 7:15 pm.

For most of the participants this tournament is more of a social occasion than a serious event. It involves making your move when a buzzer sounds at 10 second intervals, so not much thinking time. This allows at least five rounds to be played and can be fairly hectic. Entry is free with the winner going away with a small trophy.

All are welcome.

Morriston Chess Club have changed their venue this season so it is also an opportunity for non Morriston members to check out Morriston's new home. The address is:
