Morriston A were held by White Knights B in a tense encounter which went right to the wire. Bill Hewitt defeated Peter Bevan in a French Defence, Ian Jones and Nicholas Evans agreed a draw in a queenless middlegame and Richard Cleveland missed a win against David Buttell and had to settle for a draw. Chris Howells beat David Guy with David losing on time in a Rook and Pawn ending and Ian Eustis drew with Keith Downey despite being two pawns up in an ending.
