It was always going to be close in the top of the table clash between Morriston A and White Knights A. A top board win for White Knights was cancelled out by a Morriston win on board 3 and after draws on the bottom two boards it all came down to a fight to the finish on board 2. Morriston eventually triumphed, kept their 100% record and in spite of an inferior number of game points the 3-2 win moved them into first place above White Knights.

In the other Division 1 matches CN Emperors having lost their previous 4 encounters nevertheless overcame a Morriston B team that, on paper at least, looked the stronger, while BF Brunel, last season's Division 2 winners, did not fare so well against a strong White Knights B team. Only a top board win for Brunel prevented the whitewash and after starting the season with a bang Brunel have now lost 4 matches in a row.

In Division 2 the leaders Morriston C struggled against Upper Killay Harriers and had to be content with a draw. Although they still head the table a 3½-1½ win for UK Merlins against Woodman A means that Merlins are now second and like Morriston C they have only dropped 1 match point. In the other match played White Knights E, away to Woodman B, gained their second win of the season with a 1-4 victory and with matches in hand are poised to move up the table.
