League

The arrival of FM Carl Strugnell and the resultant boost to Morriston means that both Nidum and White Knights no longer have total dominance over Division 1. This was brought home to Nidum A when they lost 2-3 to Morriston A for the first time in a long time. Can anyone actually remember when that last happened? The result does not affect the League positions at the moment but makes it that bit harder for Nidum and no doubt gives White Knights something to think about.

In the other two Division 1 matches White Knights A easily overcame Port Talbot 4-1 while Nidum B scraped through 3-2 against White Knights C with 4 draws and a win.

The top of Division 2 saw BF Brunel continue their winning streak with a 0.5 - 4.5 win over Woodman B while Emperors kept in touch with a 2-3 win away to UK Merlins; Woodman A got some sort of revenge for their B team's defeat by winning 3-2 against Briton Ferry's second team Giants.

In Division 3 Morriston D maintained their third place position with a 3-2 win over fourth placed White Knights E while UK Eagles turned up two players short against CN Tribunes and duly went down 4-1. The disappointment of the week, however, was second placed BF Ferrymen's failure to put out a team against UK Hawks. The 5-0 defeat coupled with two penalty points puts the Ferrymen 7 points behind Morriston C and suggests that they may have given up the chase.

Cup

The only other match played last week was a quarter-final clash in the Under 1800 KO cup between Morriston B and UK Merlins. A 2.5-1.5 win for Morriston means that they go forward into the semi-finals and play either Woodman A or CN Emperors.
