The one match played in Division 1 saw White Knights B visit the Bluebell Hotel to take on Nidum. The Knights were without three of their strongest players and this was reflected in the overall score. 4-1 to Nidum with only the Knights’ top board stopping the whitewash. The result takes Nidum to the top of the table.

Division 2 was only marginally busier with two matches taking place. UK Merlins played their first match of the season as hosts to White Knights D and generously sent the visitors away with the 2 points (2-3 to the Knights). In the other match BF Giants, fresh from their victory over Morriston C, travelled to Sketty to play De la Beche A. Two wins apiece coupled with a board 2 draw meant that the match ended all square, so White Knights D slip into top spot.

In Division 3 both Morriston D and Morriston E were in action last week. The D team were prepared to face an in form Harriers team that had won their first two matches but on the night Harriers defaulted their two bottom boards. An additional two wins for Morriston with a draw on board 2 resulted in Morriston D winning 4½-½ with the extra game points taking them top ahead of Tribunes. Morriston’s E team visited Upper Killay to play against UK Hawks with both teams looking for their first points of the season. The end result was somehow familiar to the Hawks with the 4-1 loss repeating the result of their previous two defeats.

All in all not a good week for Upper Killay teams.
