Following a lengthy illness that he bore with great fortitude Lyndon Todd sadly passed away in Morriston Hospital on Monday 31st August 2020.

Lyndon was a well liked and valuable member of the Briton Ferry Chess Club. He first took part in League competitions in the 2011-12 season and such was his enthusiasm that for the last few years he successfully organised both their Brunel and Giants teams. His fervour and eagerness to see the club do well resulted in him guiding the Brunel team to the Division 3 Championship in both the 2017-18 and 2019-20 seasons. He was also a staunch competitor among his peers and won the Briton Ferry Championship in 2018.

He played his last competitive game in January but his passion was such that, in spite of his illness, he continued to organise both teams until the League was suspended in March

All of us in the Briton Ferry club are deeply saddened at his passing and we will miss him dearly.
