With the League competition ending on the 30th April the last few matches are all about grapping a few extra points. In division 1 the top three teams did just that. White Knights B travelled to Neath to play second placed Nidum but could make little impression against a team that out graded them on every board. The 4½-½ result in Nidum’s favour made no difference, however, to the table rankings. It was the same story when BF All Blacks visited Llanelli to play White Knights A and found themselves on the receiving end of a 5-0 whitewash. The third match played in Division 1 was, however, a lot closer and saw Morriston A just scrape through against Swansea University A by 3-2. The University only had four players with Morriston gaining the victory thanks to the default.

Just two matches in Division 2 with the first being between Morriston B and BF Giants. This was Morriston B’s last match and they just needed to turn up to guarantee the Division 2 title. They went one better, however, and took the match 3-2. In the other match Upper Killay Merlins completed their fixtures by travelling down the road to play Swansea University B. The University had a comfortable win in their previous encounter so it was something of a surprise when Merlins went home the victors 4-1. The result moves Merlins up into fourth place ahead of BF Giants who will now need to defeat White Knights D in their last match of the season if they want to regain fourth place.

Upper Killay Hawks defaulted against Brunel so that left two matches actually played in Division 3. In the first to be played Morriston E visited De la Beche C at Sketty and came away the victors 1½-3½. This moved them up a place into third spot above De la Beche B with both teams having one fixture still to play. In the other match St Michael’s School achieved their third win of the season when Upper Killay Harriers turned up two players short for their match. St Michael’s won the other three boards so it was a very convincing 5-0 victory.

In the fourth round of the West Wales Closed Championship three of the four remaining games were played. David Toner beat Tony Goodchild, Joel Chung beat Albert Easton and Daniel Chung beat Dennis Thomas. The one remaining game is between Andrew Smith and Bill Flew.

The Under 1880 KO Cup competition semi final match between De la Beche B and Castell-Nedd Senators (last year's winners) was played with the Senators emerging the winners by 2½-1½. They now go forward to the final where they will meet the winners of the yet to be played match between Swansea University B and Morriston B.
