Titles All Decided

In the League we now know which teams are taking the trophies and which teams are getting relegated. With one match to go White Knights A have retained the Division 1 title and hold onto the Dr Hanson Trophy. They did so by beating bottom of the table BF All Blacks 4-1; a result that cements a bottom place finish for the Briton Ferry team and consequent relegation.

There was one other match in Division 1 with White Knights B beating Morriston B 3½-1½. The result guarantees that White Knights B will finish fourth and Morriston B fifth.

In Division 2 White Knights D were at home to BF Giants with the Giants needing at least a point to be sure of avoiding relegation. Although they did manage to draw and go home with the necessary point it meant that the other Briton Ferry team, Brunel, will now get relegated and bounce back down to Division 3. In the other Division 2 match Morriston C were away to UK Merlins where they won fairly convincingly. 3½-1½ to the Morriston team and a guaranteed second placed finish.

Just the one match in Division 3 but it turned out to be a title decider. Second placed Morriston E needed to beat De la Beche C to give themselves a chance of overtaking De la Beche B and grabbing the Division top spot. However, although De la Beche C did not field a particularly strong team they were strong enough to hold the Morriston team to a draw. If Morriston C win their final match against Harriers they will draw level with De la Beche B on match points but they will be unable to equal their game points. De la Beche B have, therefore, won Division 3.

In summary, and subject to ratification by the Divisional Controllers, White Knights A win Division 1 while BF All Blacks get relegated, De la Beche A win Division 2 while BF Brunel get relegated and De la Beche B win Division 3.
