Top Teams Whitewash their Opponents

The Division 1 title contenders all moved into overdrive last week with all three winning their respective matches 5-0. BF Nidum had perhaps the toughest match against a determined CN Emperors and by all accounts it was a hard fought tussle. Nevertheless for the second week in a row Nidum took all 5 game points off their opponents and kept themselves in top spot. Morriston A kept in touch by making short work of their C team in their last inter-club encounter as did White Knights A against their own C team. The only Division 1 match not to finish 5-0 was between De la Beche A and White Knights B where the doomed De la Beche side managed a bottom board draw.

Three of the top four teams were in action last week in Division 2. First up was the inter club match between UK Hawks and UK Merlins. 5-0 to Merlins to keep them firmly in 4th place and only two points behind the leaders Bluebell. BF Giants then hosted White Knights E winning 2-1 on the night but 4-1 overall thanks to 2 defaults by the Knights. This result puts a severe dent in any title hopes that White Knights E might have and although they still lie in second place they have played two more matches than the leaders. BF Giants are now third but have played one more match than Bluebell. However, as only two points separate the top four there is still a lot to play for. The final match of the week was the closest encounter of all those played with Morriston E just managing to scrape a 3-2 victory over De la Beche B. Another good result for Morriston's juniors.

This week sees league matches taking a week off in favour of the quarter-finals of the various KO Cup matches.
