West Wales Closed Championship (E.J. Clarke Trophy)

The third round of the competition took place on Monday 5th February at Morriston Chess Club (Morriston Community Centre, Pentrepoeth School Road, Morriston, Swansea SA6 6HZ). Moss McCarthy was unable to attend due to illness but all the other matches took place.

The competition is being organised by June Evans and controlled by Ian Eustis.

Peter Bevan and Paul Bevan lead the field with 3 points. Ian Jones, Moss McCarthy, Andrew Smith, David Toner and Bill Flew have 2 points. Tony Goodchild, John Davies and Joe Spooner have 1½ points. Sean Denton, Albert Easton, Daniel Chung, Greg Goold, Joel Chung, Dennis Jones and June Evans are on 1 point while Steve Lockley has ½ point and Janet Evans is on zero.

Round 4 is scheduled for the 12th April at the Briton Ferry Club.
