With no more than a few weeks of the season remaining and the top two positions in each division decided the remaining matches are all about the middle order positions. In Division 1 Nidum played White Knights B in the battle for third place with neither side gaining the advantage. The resultant draw means that White Knights B finish the season with 21 points, 2 ahead of Nidum who still have two matches to play. If Nidum can get two points from these two remaining matches they will finish third with a superior game point total. The other first division match saw a rejuvenated Morriston B defeat White Knights C 3½-1½ and move up a place into sixth. With two matches still to play the best they can hope for is fifth but they will have to defeat both Emperors and White Knights C (again!) for this to happen.

Division 2 saw White Knights D move convincingly into third place with a 4-1 win over Tribunes and extend their winning streak to seven. With two matches remaining, the first against bottom of the table Hawks and then Morriston D, they look destined to hold onto that third spot with Merlins taking the fourth. The only other match played was between BF Giants and Morriston D where wins on the top 3 boards gave Giants the victory 3-2.

Now that the League competition is nearly over the spotlight will move towards the KO Cup competitions. In the first of the semi-final matches Port Talbot and White Knights met for a place in the final of the Under 1800 section and fought each other to a standstill. The 2-2 draw meant that bottom board elimination was needed to find the victor and only after the bottom 3 boards were discounted could White Knights be declared the winners. White Knights now go forward to meet either Castell Nedd or Briton Ferry in the final.
