Just the two matches in Division 1 with the results going the way of the stronger teams, as might be expected. Morriston A were still without some of their top players when they travelled to Tonna to play CN Emperors but nevertheless managed a 1½-3½ win. The Emperors only full point came from an inform Michael Beck to whom grading difference appears to mean nothing. The other match between White Knights B and C went the way of the B team also by a 3½-1½ score. White Knights A and B are now just ahead of BF Nidum in the table so the forthcoming Nidum v White Knights B match could be interesting especially when White Knights B’s win over Morriston A is remembered.

In Division 2 White Knights D travelled to Swansea to play a home match against the University and in spite of being the much stronger team only just scraped the win 3-2. The surprise of the week, however, was BF Giants’ win over Morriston C. Although out grading BF Giants on every board two losses and two draws were enough to give the win to the weaker team 3-2. This division now has 5 teams sitting on 2 match points so it will be a few weeks yet before we see who is going to rise to the top.

Two results in Division 3 both featuring Upper Killay teams. In the first to be played Harriers had a surprise win over favourites CN Tribunes (3-2) to make it 2 wins out of 2 so far this season while club mates Hawks were comfortably outclassed by De la Beche B (4-1). Only Hawks and Morriston E have yet to pick up a point in this division but this is bound to change for one or both as they meet mid-week at Upper Killay.
