As we learn to live with the effects of the Covid pandemic the League is now adopting some semblance of normality. So some notice of forthcoming events.

On Saturday 18th June 2022 the annual quickplay tournament (aka the AO Jones) is being held at the Morriston Rugby Club, the home venue of the Morriston Chess Club. The room has been booked from 9 am to 5:30 pm and further details will no doubt be forthcoming. The event has historically been organised as a Swiss tournament of 5 rounds with a time control of 30 minutes for all moves. Everyone is invited.

On Monday 27th June 2022 the League will be holding its Annual General Meeting and it too will be held at the Morriston Rugby Club. Start time will be 7:15 pm. Clubs or members wishing to submit resolutions should present them to the League Secretary (Sam Pritchard) as soon as possible bearing in mind that Sam is required to publish an agenda no later than the 13th June 2022. Note that there is no "Any Other Business" at this meeing so if you wish to discuss something it must be presented as a resolution.

The West Wales Weekend Chess Congress was last played in October 2019 and will be returning this coming November. As before it will be held in the Mercure Hotel in Llansamlet and this year it will over the weeked of the 11th-13th November 2022. It is open to members of the WCU or any other national chess federation. Les Philpin is the organiser.
