A farewell to the UK Falcons
This week saw the withdrawal of UK Falcons from the League after they defaulted a second match. The scores of all its played matches have been cancelled but as the team failed to win a point all season this has not affected League placings. However, individual game scores still count for grading purposes.
The two matches played in Division 1 resulted in Nidum A beating White Knights B 3-2 while White Knights A beat Nidum B by the same score. This was the first time this season that White Knights A have managed to beat Nidum's second team and White Knights no doubt breathed a big sigh of relief. It keeps Nidum A 3 points behind, although with a match in hand. Both teams have still to meet a revitalised Morriston A as well as each other so an interesting end to the season still to come.
In Division 2 Woodman B, at home to White Knights D, lost 1-4 while a day later Emperors, at home to Morriston B, narrowly lost 2-3. On Thursday Brunel had a convincing 4.5-0.5 win over UK Merlins. The result of the Emperors v Morriston match means that if Brunel beat Woodman A in their final match of the season they will win the Division 2 title no matter what Emperors and Morriston B do.
Morriston C, the runaway winners of Division 3, played two matches last week and continued to dominate in both. Third placed Morriston D went down 4-1 while second placed BF Ferrymen showed a bit more resistance but still lost 2-3. UK Eagles played club mates Harriers and lost 0.5-3.5. (both teams defaulted boards).
