Congratulations to all those who have got through to the cup semi-finals - excitement all around! In the U1900, the Harriers now enter the tournament and facing the Consuls. The Castell Nedd team was forced to knock out their own team (the Senators) in the first round, but with the likes of Jonathan Thomas and Dale Westcott on top boards they are likely to be favourites of the tournament. Noah's Yard A now face off against White Knights B, a tough battle to be sure. Though the weaker of the two teams, the likes of Donovan Sipho and Blake Stone have allowed the club to plough forward with some good wins in both the league and cup. However, with three 1700+ players, White Knights have the slight upper-hand.

In the U1650, there was a surprise win for the Gladiators versus De La Beche, managing a sound win despite being outgraded on all boards. Now they face off against the Kestrels, a the team who took out Castell Nedd's team, the Legionnaires. Will revenge be served or do Upper Killay make their way into the final? The final match shows the two favourites of the tournament fighting, White Knights C having a 4 - 0 victory in the first round and the Centurion close by with 3.5 - 0.5. With two strong teams facing off the result should be much closer in the semi-final!

Finally the Open sees one more game to play before the final is ready. The Balrogs managed a close 2.5 - 1.5 defeat of the Emperors, only saved by Jonathan and Dale, whilst the Emperors achieved a surprising 2.5 - 1.5 victory over White Knights A. The third match, to be held on the 14th of May. With everything equal in the tournament this matches result, and board order, will determine who faces off in the final.
