In their last outing before the League’s mid season break Morriston A travelled to Llanelli for a rearranged match. Although without two of their strongest players they nevertheless managed to overcome a marginally under strength White Knights B. The 1-4 result allowed Morriston A to leapfrog White Knights A and take back the top spot, albeit by just one point. White Knights A, however, have a match in hand and the advantage must still rest with them. In the only other Division 1 match played last week Morriston B defeated White Knights C by the narrowest of margins 3-2. It was their third win of the season so far and they now share a 50% score line with both White Knights B & C.

Division 2 was a bit busier with 4 matches played. CN Tribunes and UK Harriers cancelled each other out and both remain firmly in the middle of the table. On the Wednesday it was an Upper Killay v Briton Ferry night with the results deciding who would go top of the Division. Contenders UK Merlins just lost 2-3 to BF Giants while UK Hawks lost 1½-3½ to BF Bluebell. This victory for Bluebell coupled with Merlin’s loss gives Bluebell a two point cushion over the chasing pack although club mates BF Giants have a match in hand. White Knights D ended the week with a 4-1 away win against Morriston E and with a very healthy game point total are now poised to make an impact. Their forthcoming encounter with BF Giants may well decide who challenges Bluebell.
