White Knights fielded their top 5 rated players while Morriston were missing Cal Strugnell. A draw on bd 5 resulted in an ending where Chris had a doubled extra pawn. Gerry Heap overcame Ian Jones to leave the Llanelli side a point up & looking better on boards 3 & 5, but worse on bd1. Alan was a pawn up as was Bill on bd4. In a very complicated position, Richard erred and Jason scored a fine victory to leave the Llanelli side in charge. This was Richard's first loss in two seasons. Alan took a draw a pawn up to win the match and Ian Eustis resigned two pawns down in an endgame. White Knights will win the division 1 title if they avoid defeat against Morriston B, the match was initially postponed when the Morriston venue was unavailable.
