The clash between two of the Division 1 title contenders took place last Monday under conditions that were far from ideal. Morriston A played host to White Knights A with their venue providing an unacceptable level of background music. The match did, however, take place and the end result was that each side cancelled the other out. So they shared the points with three draws and a win apiece and although it meant that White Knights A no longer have a 100% record it was enough to take them to the top of the table for the first time this season. In the other matches Morriston C gained their fourth point of the season by holding CN Emperors to a draw and BF Brunel beat relegation favourites De la Beche A 4-1.

It was somewhat busier in Division 2 with 5 matches taking place. UK Merlins were away to Morriston D in a rearranged match and stayed in the title race by coming away 2-3 winners. The following night leaders BF Bluebell stumbled against a strong White Knights D team and lost 1.5-3.5, while on the Wednesday UK Merlins played a second match of the week. The 3-2 score line put Merlins up alongside Bluebell with only a couple of game points separating them. On the same night UK Hawks lost for the eighth time in a row; this time by the narrowest of margins to De la Beche B , 2-3. The final match of the week was between surprise team of the season White Knights E and Morriston D. A 4-1 win for White Knights keeps them on a par with Bluebell and Merlins and still in contention for the title.

It has been traditional to hold a Christmas Charity Tournament just before the mid season break and it had been the League’s intention to hold it on December 14th. However, the venue is no longer available and it has been decided to cancel it for this season.
