A successful week for White Knights in Division 1. All their first division teams were in action at home and all were victorious. First up was White Knights B who defeated Morriston C 3½-1½ by the now familiar 3 draws and two individual wins. The following night White Knights C won 4-1 against CN Emperors helped, to a certain extent, by a bottom board default by the Emperors and on the same night the crucial White Knights A v BF Nidum match got off to a bad start when Nidum’s top board defaulted due to unexpected work commitments. Can anyone remember when the ultra reliable Nidum last defaulted a game, and in such an important match ? It meant that White Knights only needed two game points from the other 4 games and this they achieved with 4 draws. White Knights A the victors 3-2 and so they remain the only team in the League with a 100% record. Interest now turns to the Morriston A v White Knights A match on the 30th November.

After two defeats in a row CN Tribunes returned to winning ways by defeating joint leaders White Knights E in Division 2. 3½-1½ the score. On the Wednesday BF Bluebell travelled to Upper Killay to take on UK Harriers. A very impressive ½-4½ victory for the Briton Ferry side with only Greg Goold’s draw saving the Harriers from a whitewash. BF Bluebell are now looking like favourites to take the Division 2 title and we could end up with three BF Nidum teams in Division 1 if their run of successes continues. In the bottom half of the table De la Beche B played Morriston D and went down 1-4 , Alan Bean’s victory over Dave Conway being their only point. Finally in the closest contest of the division BF Giants triumphed over bottom of the table UK Hawks to move above UK Merlins who have a match in hand.
