Woodman A Extend Their Lead in Division 2
With round three of the West Wales Individual Championship being run this week there was a curtailed League programme and only four matches were played.
Division 1 saw Morriston B take on Port Talbot with both teams looking for a long awaited second win. As expected it was a close match with Morriston B just succeeding by the narrowest of margins. The 3-2 victory boosts them into sixth spot and leaves Port Talbot floundering on the bottom.
In Division 2 Morriston D played host to CN Tribunes and lost 1½-3½. The result sees Tribunes move up into fourth spot and with seven matches still to play they are close enough to challenge for a top three place. BF Giants were at home to the unpredictable White Knights E and managed to scrape through 3-2, a result that moves them into the top half of the table - but only just. However, the most significant match of the week was probably that between title contenders Woodman A and UK Merlins. For their second match in a row Woodman A were the victors 3-2 and increased their match point total to 25. Morriston C now lag 3 points behind in second place and need to take full advantage of their matches in hand if they hope to move back into the top spot.
